Son of William H. and Mary H. Hill, Peterborough, Ontario - studied Arts at Queen's University, Kingston, from 1913 to 1914 - served with the Queen's University Canadian Officers' Training Corps.Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 April 1915 (number A11133) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - wounded on 29 October 1916 - killed in action on 9 April 1917 - buried in Villers Station Cemetery (grave IX.A.2), France.

I was greatly pleased to see your blog on the 38th. Capt Hill was my great uncle and a great part of family lore for all my life. I am currently in the process of obtaining his records but also have some pictures, including his gravesite which I have visited. I am a serving member of the Army and was part of the Vimy 90th Ceromonial Guard so I have many pics of the ground the Bn fought over at Vimy. I am currently trying to find out as much about the 38th and would be most interested in contributing to your project in any way possible
