Lance-Corporal Gordon William McKay

Born on 1 January 1896 in Egmondville, Ontario - son of Mrs. Alex McKay, Seaforth, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Seaforth, Ontario; trade as miller; single; no current military service; previously attended the military camp in Goderich of the 33rd Regiment; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 8 inches; chest of 35.5 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; bluish-grey eyes; black hair.

Joined the 161st Battalion, CEF, in Seaforth, Ontario, on 11 December 1915 (number 654070) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 29 December 1916 - invalided sick to England on 21 March 1917 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 6 July 1917 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 16 June 1919.
