Private Henry Steele

Born on 10 July 1893 in Belfast, Ireland - son of Catherine Wilson, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as labourer; single; currently serving with the active militia; no previous military service; Church of England; height of 6 feet 0.5 inches; chest of 41 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; light brown hair.

Joined the 58th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 17 July 1915 (number 453251) - landed in France with the 58th Battalion, CEF, on 20 February 1916 - wounded on 29 October 1917 - invalided to England on 8 November 1917 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 August 1918 - rejoined the 58th Battalion on 9 September 1918.
