Born on 12 September 1888 in Callington, Cornwall, England - son of Mrs. L. Jago, Callington, Cornwall, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Detroit, Michigan; trade as sheet metal worker; single; no current military service; previously served with the Volunteers (five years); Church of England; height of 5 feet 6 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded; sallow complexion; brown eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 70th Battalion, CEF, in Windsor, Ontario, on 8 November 1915 (number 124379) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 8 March 1918 - invalided sick to England on 13 May 1918.
