Private Hermas Saumur

Born on 16 February 1896 in Hull, Quebec - son of Mr. L.J. Saumur, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his conscription in 1918: present address same as father; single; Roman Catholic; trade as farmer; no current or previous military service; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 37.5 inches fully expanded; swarthy complexion; brown eyes; black hair.

Conscripted into the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Kingston, Ontario, on 23 January 1918 (number 3056316) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 10 or 11 June 1918 - wounded on 3 September 1918 - invalided to England on 6 September 1918.
