Joined the 91st Canadian Infantry Battalion in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 3 February 1916 (number 189955) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion in France on 20 or 21 August 1916 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 21 April 1917.
