Joined the 93rd Battalion, CEF, in Peterborough, Ontario, on 25 April 1916 (number 195938) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 24 May 1917 - killed in action on 22 April 1918 - buried in La Targette British Cemetery (grave I.J.27), France.
