Major John James Harriman

Born on 15 October 1879 in Thorold, Ontario - husband of Ethel Fanny Harriman, Niagara Falls, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address same as wife, trade as merchant, Presbyterian, currently a member of the 44th Lincoln and Welland Regiment (since 1903).

Joined the 98th Battalion, CEF, as a Major in Welland, Ontario, on 23 November 1915 - taken on the strength of the 73rd Battalion, CEF, on 27 or 30 January 1917 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 14 February 1917 - invalided sick to England on 23 May 1917 - later served with the Canadian Forestry Corps.
