Private Albert Edward Meadows

Born on 4 August 1885 in Peckham, Kent, England - next of kin listed as Mrs. E. Meadows, Vancouver, British Columbia - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as musician; married; no current or previous military service; Salvationist; height of 5 feet 5 inches; chest of 38.5 inches fully expanded; ruddy complexion; blue eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 72nd Battalion, CEF, as a member of the band in Vancouver, British Columbia, on 23 December 1915 (number 130163) - landed in France with the 72nd Battalion on 12 August 1916 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 2 May 1917 - died on 21 April 1918 of wounds received that day - buried in La Targette British Cemetery (grave I.J.24), France.
