Born on 9 August 1880 in Ross, England - husband of Harriett Sindrey, Oakville, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Oakville, Ontario; trade as farmer; married; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 3.5 inches; chest of 35 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 164th Battalion, CEF, in Oakville, Ontario, on 31 January 1916 (number 663403) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 8 or 9 April 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 16 June 1919.
