Private Edward Simister

Born on 21 September 1892 in Oldham, Lancaster, England - son of R. Simister, Webb, Saskatchewan - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Webb, Saskatchewan; trade as well driller; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 11 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; dark gray eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 212th Battalion, CEF, in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, on 31 March 1916 (number 261101) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 16 or 17 February 1917 - invalided sick to England on 10 April 1917 - later served with the Canadian Railway Troops, CEF.
