Private Charles Hadden Sly

Born on 20 January 1893 in Morton, South Crosby, Ontario - son of Giula Sly, Gananoque, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address in Gananoque, Ontario; trade as cheesemaker; single; no current or previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 9.5 inches; chest of 35 inches fully expanded; light complexion; brown eyes; black hair.

Joined the 156th Battalion, CEF, in Brockville, Ontario, on 24 December 1915 (number 639362) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 18 or 19 January 1918 - wounded on 16 March 1918 - invalided to England on 29 March 1918.
