Private Leon Provencher

Born on 1 February 1889 in Plissisville, Quebec - son of Napoleon Provencher, Chicopee, Massachusetts - at the time of his conscription in 1918: present address same as father; "Defaulter"; single; Roman Catholic; trade as farmer; no current or previous military service; height of 5 feet 8 inches; chest of 38 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; brown eyes; black hair.

Conscripted into the 1st Depot Battalion, Eastern Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Kingston, Ontario, on 29 March 1918 (number 4021563) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 September 1918 - killed in action on 30 October 1918 - buried in Denain Communal Cemetery (grave A.21), France.
