Born on 22 November 1894 in Brockville, Ontario - husband of Donalda Plunkett, Alexandria, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Alexandria, Ontario; trade as bank teller; married; no current military service; previously served with the Signal Corps in Kingston; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 6 inches; chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded; medium complexion; brown eyes; brown hair.

Joined No.2 Overseas Army Service Corps Training Depot, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 8 November 1916 (number 513473) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 5 July 1917 - invalided sick to England on 30 March 1918.
