Private James Edward O'Byrn

Born on 11 December 1894 in Bellingham, Washington - son of Bernard O'Byrn, South Indian, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in South Indian, Ontario; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 4 inches; chest of dark complexion; brown eyes; black hair.

Joined the 154th Battalion, CEF, in Russell, Ontario, on 23 February 1916 (number 633543) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 24 May 1917 - wounded on 8 August 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 19 September 1918 - wounded on 30 September 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 3 October 1918.
