Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 18 February 1915 (number 410909) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 17 July 1915 - transferred to the 3rd Divisional Trench Mortar Battery, CEF, on 26 August 1916 - at some point commissioned and promoted to Acting Captain.
Awarded the Military Cross.

Austin Loy was my mother's first cousin. When he died in Victoria on May 30, 1995, he was the last surviving Patricia of World War 1. The Patricias honoured him accordingly.
