Private Edward William Littleford

Born on 15 January 1896 in Toronto, Ontario - son of Charlotte Florence Littleford, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as woodworker; single; currently a member of the Bodyguards Toronto (five months); previously served with the Mississaugua Horse (one month); Methodist; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 39 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; red hair.

Joined the 59th Battalion, CEF, in Smiths Falls, Ontario, on 15 February 1915 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 22 June 1915 (number 410350) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - invalided sick to England on 18 November 1916 - later served with reserve units.
