Private Edward Shankland Lipsett

Born on 26 October 1890 in Glasgow, Scotland - husband of Lillian Lipsett, Phelam, New York - at the time of his enlistment in 1917: married; trade as clerk; married; no current or previous military service; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 6.75 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; medium complexion; blue gray eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 1st Battalion, 2nd Central Ontario Regiment, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 10 December 1917 (number 3106024) - taken on the strength of the 58th Battalion, CEF, on 1 or 2 June 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 August 1918 - wounded on 29 September 1918 - invalided to England on 6 October 1918.
