Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 1 March 1915 (number 410341) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - killed in action on 13 September 1916 - buried in Kemmel Chateau Military Cemetery (grave X.27), Belgium.

Medric (Mederic elsewhere) Lanoux died on the same day as Oliver Webb Paynter (410377)of the same 38th battalion. Paynter is buried beside him at Kemmel in X.26
