Private George Mansell Lavery

Born on 21 March 1890 in Milton, Ontario - husband of Marietta Lavery, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as wife; trade as teamster; married; currently a member of the 12th York Rangers; previously served with the 48th Highlanders of Canada; Methodist; height of 5 feet 7 inches; chest of 37.5 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; grey eyes; dark hair.

Joined the 97th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 26 January 1916 (number 207641) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 16 or 17 February 1917 - wounded on 30 September 1918 - invalided sick to England on 24 January 1919.
