Private Percy Grant Jones

Born on 9 July 1897 in Markham, Ontario - son of Jessie Jones, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as mother; trade as student; single; no current military service; previously served with the Canadian Officers' Training Corps (one year); Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 6 inches; chest of 34.5 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; brown eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 4th Divisional Cyclists, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 14 February 1916 (number 541182) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, in England on 11 or 12 July 1916 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion in England on 13 August 1916 - joined the Canadian Ordnance Corps, CEF, in England on 22 September 1916 - later promoted to Acting-Sergeant.
