Corporal Alphonse Leo Richard Kelly

Born on 5 May 1897 in Pontiac County, Quebec - son of Philip M. Kelly, Alumette Island, Quebec - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address on Alumette Island, Quebec; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Roman Catholic; height of 5 feet 9.5 inches; chest of 38 inches fully expanded; weight of 160 pounds; fair complexion; blue eyes; light brown hair.

Joined the 130th Battalion, CEF, in Pembroke, Ontario, on 7 January 1916 (number 788841) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 14 or 15 November 1916 - attached to the 12th Canadian Trench Mortar Battery, CEF, on 20 February 1917 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 14 April 1917 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 11 November 1917 - invalided sick to England on 30 March 1918.
