Private William Joseph Johnson

Born on 19 April 1897 in Collingwood, Ontario - son of Joseph Augustus Johnson, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as father; trade as labourer; single; no current or previous military service; Baptist; height of 5 feet 3.5 inches; chest of 33 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; blue eyes; black hair.

Joined the 109th Battalion, CEF, in Lindsay, Ontario, on 28 January 1916 (number 725191) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 30 May 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 1 February 1919 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 16 June 1919.
