Private Arthur Stanley Jones

Born on 2 January 1894 in England - brother of Horace Jones, London, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as farm labourer; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 3.5 inches; chest of 33.5 inches fully expanded; healthy complexion; blue eyes; brown hair; tattoo of a cross with words "In memory of my dear Mother and Father" on right forearm.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 23 January 1915 (number 410119) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - invalided sick to England on 5 December 1916.
