Private George Henry Johnstone

Born on 5 January 1885 in Peel County, Ontario - son of Moses Johnstone, Malton, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1917: present address same as father; trade as farmer; single; no current military service; previously served with the 36th Regiment (nine camps as a corporal); Church of England; height of 5 feet 8.5 inches; chest of 40.5 inches fully expanded; fresh complexion; blue eyes; brown hair.

Joined # 2 Canadian Army Service Corps, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 23 January 1917 (number 513726) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 5 or 6 July 1917 - wounded on 30 October 1917 [no mention in CWM papers] - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 16 June 1919.
