Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 9 March 1915 (number 410954) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 17 July 1915 - [rejoined?] Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 21 September 1916 - wounded on 18 or 20 November 1916 - rejoined Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 1 November 1917 - wounded on 16 November 1917 - rejoined Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 16 September 1918 - wounded on 30 September 1918 - at some point was commissioned as a Lieutenant.
