Private Arthur William Humphrey

Born on 10 November 1899 (gave 1897 on his enlistment paper) in Birch, Colchester, England - son of Robina Humphrey, Birch, Colchester, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Sparta, Ontario, trade as farmer, single, no current or previous military service, Church of England, height of 5 feet 4 inches, chest of 34 inches fully expanded, fresh complexion, grey eyes, light brown hair.

Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 27 March 1916 (number 190185) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 or 21 August 1916 - invalided sick to England on 13 October 1916 - later served with reserve units.
