Born on 25 February 1892 in Dunrobin, Ontario - son of Mr. F. Rowe, Dunrobin, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Dunrobin, Ontario; trade as farmer; single; no current military service; previously served with the 23rd Field Battery (three years); Methodist; height of 5 feet 8.5 inches; chest of 39 inches fully expanded; medium complexion; grey eyes; brown hair.

Joined the 207th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 29 January 1916 (number 246556) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 18 or 19 January 1918 - invalided sick to England on 28 March 1918.
