Private George Russell Russell

Born on 22 June 1897 or 1898 in Glasgow, Scotland - son of George and Caroline Russell, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade "just finished at High School, none"; single; no current military service; previously attended Officers' Training Corps (one year); Methodist; height of 5 feet 6.75 inches; chest of 34 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue gray eyes; brown hair - at the time of his enlistment in 1917: present address same as mother; previously served with the 48th Regiment (two years as a private).

Joined the 92nd Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 30 August 1915 (number 192954) - discharged circa January 1916 - joined the Divisional Signal Company, Canadian Engineers, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 28 May 1917 (number 2265671) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 10 or 11 June 1918 - wounded on 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 5 September 1918.

Joined the Permanent Force in Toronto, Ontario, on 12 July 1919.
