Captain Allan Crawford Ross

Born on 14 July 1886 in Ottawa, Ontario - son of Crawford Ross, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: holder of a Bachelor of Science; trade as electrical engineer; single; currently a member of the Governor General's Foot Guards; no previous military service; Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 7.75 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 1 February 1915 - proceeded to England with the 2nd Reinforcement Draft on 23 June 1915 - rejoined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in England on 11 August 1916 - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - seconded to the 4th Entrenching Battalion from 30 August 1916 to 15 September 1917 - transferred to the CCRC on 15 September 1917 - invalided sick to England on 30 November 1917 - "RTC Inv." on 18 February 1918 - later served with the 3rd Battalion, Canadian Garrison Regiment, attached to the British-Canadian Recruiting Mission.
