Joined the 91st Battalion, CEF, in St. Thomas, Ontario, on 10 December 1915 (number 189615) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 20 or 21 August 1916 - wounded on 19 or 20 November 1916 - invalided to England on 24 November 1916 - transferred to the 4th Canadian Labour Battalion, CEF, on 14 March 1917.
