Private Joseph Benjamin Hawkins

Born on 26 April 1896 in London, Ontario - brother of Mrs. Esther[?] Ward, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: present address same as sister, trade as bugler, single, no current military service, previously served with the 109th Regiment (one year), Roman Catholic, height of 5 feet 9.5 inches, chest of 39 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, gray eyes, dark brown hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 20 December 1915 (number 775080) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 18 April 1917.
