Private Harry Lewis Smith

Born on 23 May 1897 in Norfolk County, Ontario - son of Lyman Lewis Smith, Scotland, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Scotland, Ontario; trade as farmer; single; currently a member of the 38th Dufferin Rifles; no previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 4 inches; chest of 32 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 215th Battalion, CEF, in Burford, Ontario, on 3 May 1916 (number 270225) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 27 or 28 March 1918 - wounded on 10 August 1918 - rejoined the 38th Battalion on 4 October 1918 - struck off the strength of the 38th Battalion on 16 June 1919.
