Private Allen Devonport Harvey

Born on 12 July 1894 in Saint John, New Brunswick - son of Henry Allen Harvey, Montreal, Quebec - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as architectural draughtsman, single, currently a member of the active militia, previously served with The Queen's Own Rifles of Canada (two months) and the McGill University Canadian Officers' Training Corps, Church of England, height of 5 feet 9.6[?] inches, chest of 34.5 inches fully expanded, medium complexion, grey eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Montreal, Quebec, on 12 April 1915 (number 411139) - transferred to Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry on 16 July 1915 - transferred to the 3rd Battalion, CEF, on 9 December 1915 - killed in action on 13 June 1916 - name inscribed on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial (panel 18-24-26-30), Belgium.
