Private Charles Arthur Yeates

Born on 20 February 1875 in Scotland - brother of Thomas Yeates, London, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as printer; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 5.5 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue eyes; dark, turning grey, hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Smiths Falls, Ontario, on 13 February 1915 (number 410823) - transferred to the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915 - promoted to acting lance-corporal.
