Corporal William Laurie

Born on 12 October 1892 in Kirkcudbright, Scotland - son of (late) William and Jessie Laurie, Dumfries, Scotland - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as traveller; single; currently a member of the Active Militia (no details); previously served with the military (no details); Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 10 inches; chest of 36 inches fully expanded; dark complexion; brown eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 35th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 5 April 1915 (number 405570) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 5 April 1918 - killed in action on 10 August 1918 - name inscribed on the Vimy Memorial, France.
