Born on 17 February 1890 in Saint John, New Brunswick - husband of Gertrude White, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as wife; trade as railroad man; married; no current military service; previously served with the 3rd Canadian Artillery (private, four years); Baptist; height of 5 feet 6.5 inches; chest of 37.5 inches fully expanded; fresh complexion; brown eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 208th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 12 April 1916 (number 249362) - taken on the strength of the 58th Battalion, CEF, on 16 February 1918 - wounded on 23 April 1918 - transferred to the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 12 or 13 August 1918 - wounded on 1 or 2 September 1918 - invalided to England on 6 September 1918.
