Corporal John Weir

Born on 8 September 1883 in Scotland - son of Mrs. Bunthron Weir, Dollar, Scotland - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as carpenter; single; no current military service; previously served with the Old Country Home Guard (one year); Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 4.5 inches; chest of 34 inches fully expanded; florid complexion; grey eyes; dark hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Smiths Falls, Ontario, on 12 January 1915 (number 410008) - transferred to the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915.

Awarded the Military Medal.
