Private Charles Edward Sanford

Born on 3 August 1877 in Melankin, Ontario - husband of Caroline Sanford, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as wife; trade as laborer; married; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 8.25 inches; chest of 39 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; gray eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 28 January 1916 (number 775666) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - killed in action on 13 June 1917 - name inscribed on the Vimy Memorial, France.
