Born on 14 April 1894 in Liverpool, England - son of Charles Minton and Mary Ann Griffiths (nee Hicklin), Liverpool, England - brother of Charles David Griffiths, Ottawa, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as trunk maker, single, no current or previous military service, Church of England, height of 5 feet 5 inches, chest of 35 inches fully expanded, ruddy complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Ottawa, Ontario, on 19 March 1915 (number 410292) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - killed in action on 3 November 1916 - name inscribed on the Vimy Memorial, France.
