Private Harvey Gerald Ewart

Born on 17 March 1897 in Augusta, Grenville County, Ontario - brother of Mrs. Stephen Polite, Domville, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Prescott, Ontario, trade at farmer, single, no current or previous military service, Church of England, height of 5 feet 6.25 inches, chest of 35.25 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, blue eyes, fair hair.

Joined the 156th Battalion, CEF, in Prescott, Ontario, on 4 January 1916 (number 639249) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 24 May 1917 - killed in action on 17 August 1917 - name inscribed on the Vimy Memorial, France.
