Born on 23 August 1888 in Galt, Ontario - husband of Mrs. Minnie Hillock, Toronto, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address same as wife, trade as teamster, married, no current or previous military service, Baptist, height of 5 feet 6 inches, chest of 36.5 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, hazel eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 14 January 1916 (number 775081) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - invalided sick to England on 19 July 1918.
