Corporal George H. Hollingshead

Born on 24 October 1893 in Fairfield, Derbyshire, England - son of Mrs. Mary E. Hollingshead, Buxton, Derbyshire, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as labourer, single, no current or previous military service, Baptist or Congregationalist, height of 5 feet 5.25 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, swarthy complexion, blue eyes, blonde hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Alexandria, Ontario, on 27 February 1915 (number 410509) - served with the 38th Battalion during its period of garrison duty in Bermuda - landed in France with the 38th Battalion on 13 August 1916 - invalided sick to England on 14 October 1916.
