Private John Preston Brinck

Born on 1 October 1895 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - son of Prayton Brinck (father), Massena, New York - enlistment records provide the following: trade as carpenter, single, no current or previous military service, Methodist, height of 5 feet 7.5 inches, chest of 36 inches fully expanded, fair complexion, brown eyes, fair hair.

Joined the 156th Canadian Infantry Battalion in Prescott, Ontario, on 9 October 1916 (number 640235) - taken on the strength of the 38th Canadian Infantry Battalion in France on 18 or 19 January 1918 - captured and made a prisoner of war on 10 August 1918 - repatriated on 15 January 1919.
