Corporal Stanley Brister

Born on 18 May 1896 in Vancouver, British Columbia - son of Mrs. Brister, Vananda PO, British Columbia - enlistment records note the following: trade as engineer, single, currently serving with the 11th Regiment Irish Fusiliers of Canada (one month), no previous military service, Church of England, height of 6 feet 2 inches, chest of 38 inches fully expanded, dark complexion, brown eyes, brown hair.

Joined the 121st Canadian Infantry Battalion in New Westminster, British Columbia, on 1 December 1915 (number 760159) - taken on the strength of the 38th Canadian Infantry Battalion in France on 15 November 1916 - transferred to the Canadian Machine Gun Corps on 1 January 1917 - wounded on 29 October 1917 - killed in action as a member of the 4th Battalion, Canadian Machine Gun Corps, on 8 August 1918 - buried in Caix British Cemetery (grave I.D.3), France.
