Captain Hugh Edward Brownlee

Born on 26 March 1893 in Westmeath, Ontario - son of Mrs. Katie Brownlee, Westmeath, Ontario - enlistment records provide the following: present address in Westmeath, Ontario, trade as accountant, Church of England, currently a member of the Governor General's Foot Guards (five months), previously served with the cadets for three years.

Joined the 207th Canadian Infantry Battalion in Ottawa, Ontario, on 15 March 1916 - taken on the strength of the 38th Canadian Infantry Battalion in France on 11 November 1917 - struck off the strength of the battalion on 20 June 1919.
