Private Frederick Amos Stroud

Born on 13 February 1899 in Marysosa Township, Victoria County, Ontario - son of Amos Stroud, Woodville, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1916: present address in Woodville, Ontario; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Methodist; height of 5 feet 5 inches; chest of 37.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; hazel eyes; dark brown hair.

Joined the 109th Battalion, CEF, in Lindsay, Ontario, on 20 March 1916 (number 724127) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - wounded on 15 or 16 August 1917 - invalided to England on 21 August 1917.
