Private Frederick Selby

Born on 7 August 1879 in England - brother of Mrs. Daisy McTavish, Smiths Falls, Ontario - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as waiter; single; no current military service; previously served in the Royal Navy (three years as a steward); Church of England; height of 5 feet 3 inches; chest of 37 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; grey eyes; fair hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Smiths Falls, Ontario, on 12 February 1915 (number 411300) - transferred to the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915.
