Private Frederick Scowen

Born on 27 August 1896 in London, England - son of Annie Scowen, Mansingtree[?], Essex, England - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: Mons Road, Peel County, Ontario; trade as farmer; single; no current or previous military service; Church of England; height of 5 feet 3 inches; chest of 39.5 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; hazel eyes; light brown hair.

Joined the 126th Battalion, CEF, in Toronto, Ontario, on 20 December 1915 (number 775178) - taken on the strength of the 38th Battalion, CEF, on 4 or 6 December 1916 - wounded on 9 April 1917 - invalided to England on 16 April 1917 - later served with the Canadian Forestry Corps, CEF - promoted to corporal.
