Private John Pettigrew

Born on 23 March 1877 in Glasgow, Scotland - son of Mrs. Jane Pettigrew, Glasgow, Scotland - at the time of his enlistment in 1915: trade as drygoods clerk; single; currently a member of the 3rd Highland Light Infantry (three years); previously served in South Africa (one year); Presbyterian; height of 5 feet 5.5 inches; chest of 33 inches fully expanded; fair complexion; blue grey eyes; dark hair.

Joined the 38th Battalion, CEF, in Smiths Falls, Ontario, on 23 January 1915 (number 410783) - transferred to the 2nd Battalion, CEF, on 25 August 1915.
